The art of architecture started developing when man realized the need for shelter. I look towards many sources for design inspiration. Architecture is an amazing source not only for me, but anyone involved in creating. Even web designers and software developers look towards architecture because within it lies principles that govern good design. For example I have a friend who moved into mobile app development. Oddly he usually works for startups related to the adult dating/hookup world. He shared with me that when designing the interface for the hookup app fuckbook he drew inspiration from modern architecture. Imagine the app you are using to find casual dates was inspired by a building. This just goes to show that in the world of design inspiration can be utilized almost anywhere.
